Learning Courtyard

Learning courtyard was the winner of a competition held by Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (Indonesian Institute of Architects / IAI) and Tanjungpura University in order to realize the future of most prestigious public university public spaces and future developments. The Challenge in design was starting when main quest is to accommodate a series of public spaces for Tanjungpura university located right in the city of equator, where the outdoor recreational activity during daytime is close to zero. The language of the site it self has driven the tendency to do semi formal – formal approach of architecture as part of designing educational building and at the same time showing the openness, quality of spaces, porosity and vibrant active Tanjungpura activity. As it is governed by the existing rectorat building right in the axis of the site, giving the design a guideline to design the other major part of requirement. Learning courtyard was comprising by 1 main massing of Library, 1 Multi event hall, and 3 indoor theater, 2 classes building, and 1 future development of Laboratory collaboration . Massing wise was designed to envelope all of well-being activity under 1 roof of culture going down to earth and framing the main rector at the end of the site.

Learning Courtyard adalah pemenang desaain yang diadakan oleh Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia dan Universitas Tanjungpura dalam rangka mewujudkan ruang publik dan pengembangan pembangunan universitas negri paling prestigius di Kalimantan Tengah. Tantangan dalam desain dimulai saat kebutuhan utama adalah untuk mengakomodasi rangkaian ruang publik untuk Universitas Tanjungpura yang berada tepat di kota ekuator, dimana ruang rekreasi dan aktivitas outdoor pada siang hari hampir mendekati 0 dalam fungsionalitasnya. Terdiri dari 1 massa perpustakaan, 1 massa multi even, 3 theater indoor, 2 gedung perkuliahan dan gedung laboratorium, bahasa bentuk dari keseluruhan massa didesain untuk dibungkus dalam keberagaman aktifitas dalam 1 atap budaya menerus ke tanah dan membingkai gedung rektor utama di pusat sebagai pusat perhatian. Bahasa tapak sendiri dibentuk dari kecendrungan untuk melakukan pendekatan arsitektur formal-semi formal sebagai bagian perancangan gedung pendidikan yang dalam waktu bersamaan menggambarkan keterbukaan, kualitas ruang, porositas, dan keberagaman keaktifan Tanjungpura itu sendiri.
